ACS6102   State-Space, Non-Linear and Optimal Control   (15 credits)

Year Running: 2015/2016
Credit level: F7
Pre-requisites for   ACS6110   ACS6122   (when the module is running)

Description

This module introduces students to numerical optimisation and search methods for a wide class of engineering problems. Students will also be introduced to advanced state-space control systems analysis and design methods. The module will then develop the theory of optimal control by generalising classical finite-dimensional optimisation to the calculus of variations, and introduce some recent global methods in linear and nonlinear systems theory.
